It’s spring break soon, people, and it’s time to let your hair down. Are you ready to seize the moment and enjoy a week (or more) of fun, excitement, and adventure? We know we are!
But while we bask in the beauty of nature at our dream spring break destinations, let’s make it a point to do something meaningful for Mama N and end single-use plastic once and for all. It's no secret that single-use plastics are ending up in our oceans and killing our wildlife, or ending up in our food chain. We share a couple of must-see locations for Spring break 2022, but first, let’s run down a checklist of essentials to take along for your trip.
Spring Break Packing List
Disclaimer: We can all agree that there’s no such thing as the perfect spring break packing list, but we’ll do our best to include the basics so you can have a great time while going easy on the environment.
For Him:
- ID, printed itinerary, and travel tickets (or you could go digital - less waste!)
- Beach towel (we suggest microfiber for greater absorption and lighter weight)
- Travel adapter
- Clothing (including some boardshorts!)
- Mini first aid (it’s essential, especially if you intend to trek or swim in harsh natural landscapes)
- Toiletries
- Waterproof bags and pouches for storing wet swimwear
- A pack of garbage bags (essential for cleaning up after a beach party)
- Reusable straw and cutleries

- Eco sack (keeping everything in place without single-use consumption)
For Her:

#1 Cancun - “The” Spring Break Spot
Year after year - when you think of spring breaks, Cancun pops straight to mind. Yes, it’s a place that sees larger crowds nowadays due to commercialization. But come on, you should visit this earthly paradise at least once, and this spring break seems like the perfect time to do so. Yolo.
Why Cancun?
Beaches, beaches, and more beaches. With salt in the air and sand in your hair, it’s the perfect venue to coast and toast (why not with the Pirani insulated tumbler?). You can expect world-class nightlife for you to party your troubles away.
For the adventurers at heart, we recommend hopping on a speedboat for a scenic jungle and snorkeling excursion that will blow your mind. Don’t forget to bring a garbage bag along so you can clean up after your outing!
#2 Playa Del Carmen - A Worthy Contender
If massive crowds aren’t your thing, but you still dig the beach party life, then Playa Del Carmen is probably your go-to place. It’s a smaller spring break destination divided between a city and the hotel zone, with tons of things to do in between.
Why Playa Del Carmen?
You can save quite a sum on your travel budget with Playa del Carmen compared to Cancun since it’s less touristy. Yet, there’s still so much to see and do.
Fifth Avenue is a stretch of shops and restaurants that offers the perfect retail therapy to unwind. Don’t forget to check out Río Secreto, an awe-inspiring limestone formation perfect for Gram-worthy snaps.
And if you’re wondering, “where are my beaches at?”, Xpu-Ha and Playacar are just two of many nearby seashore retreats for a solid spring break celebration.
#3 Miami Beach - Chic Spring Break Hotspot
It’s difficult not to fall in love with Miami Beach. Expect a treat if you plan to mingle with a diverse group of sun and fun-loving people. Also, let’s not forget the sprawling rooftop bars that serve an assortment of mouthwatering cuisine, best washed down with spicy margarita from a Pirani reusable tumbler!
Why Miami Beach?
There’s something for everyone at Miami Beach - nightclubs, guided architectural tours, fishing spots, and poolside areas for some good old chillaxing.
